"Leaf Lace" Hackberry Leaf Original Watercolor

This leaf is from a group of the last remaining Hackberry trees located in our park I walk through daily. The trees became diseased and they've slowly been removing them. When I saw this leaf the light was shinning through all of the lace, it was an incredible site. Layered washes and careful detailing brought this leaf lace to life on the paper allowing it to live on forever.

This one-of-a-kind painting was created using professional-grade watercolor on archival paper, ensuring longevity and color integrity for years to come. Thoughtfully composed and intimate in scale, Gentle Grace is well suited for collectors who appreciate botanical art rooted in observation, balance, and craftsmanship.
